Either Way its Gonna Need a Front End.
After messing around with a 200 rear and an older chopper frame and then fuck it a new frame, getting that motor soda blasted, and new rocker boxes on the way this Shovel is starting to come together...

The Hammer in Hand Cycles Straightback with 16"...
Keeping some of the old and adding the new.
We thought that the stock drum brake would fit without any twerking but turns out we had to take about a half inch off the rear brake line guide, either way looks great! This pic was taken before we grind off half the guide, no worries there was enough left to properly guide the brake line.

There is a place called Locust, NC.
So a 1960 Ford pick up can make it down to Locust and then back up to Winston in one day, carry a bike and new frame without any problems! good job! Now there is a fifth bike getting ready for smokeout...
.
So we have decided to add another bike in the building just in time to really stress the next two(ish) months...we aint down to the wire yet.

finally working on the 76 ironhead.
had some kinks to workout, well their still being worked out...anyway, got a Hammer in Hand Cycles Straight Back bolt on hardtail (repecting the past by keeping the swing arm optional)! It lines up great and after we customize a seat its going to be sick!
now it just needs a new generator, etc...
Soda Blasting an Ironhead and Shovelhead(partly basted).
so soda blasting is supposed not be as abusive to non-metal surfaces and handles not stripping real chrome while cleaning and knocking off all the gunk. it seems to have worked on the iron but the shovel seems to be covered in some kind of paint that is made from oil, enamel, poly something, alloy stuff, and whatever hell else you can make paint from it, that shit aint coming off...but no worries, luckily there are some extra rocker boxes laying around.
the ironhead so clean, after some polishing will look like a crate motor!
so fresh and so clean clean...

Ripping Apart the Shovelhead
So we have been slow on the uploading front but that is because we have been busy pulling shovels etc....
Next step will be to blast the "rust" paint and polish...we hope aircraft paint remover and pressure washer does the trick

That North Carolina spring is just around the bend!
We are in the process of moving our shop and totally stoked on having enough room for personal builds and fabrication (pictures to come)! Our builds are slowly starting to see some progress and are soon going to resemble motorcycles again. We better hurry cause spring is coming!
until then we can just day dream of better days and knuckleheads...

Sweatsuit Thursdays.
We are in the process of tearing down 3 bikes in one small garage which has been bestowed upon by our gracious hosts. In the process of building we are also attempting at making the garage a home...its coming along. so far we have tore down an ironhead and are well under way on one of the Evos, its all moving along pretty smoothly. Now its just a matter of budget and balancing building with fabricating parts for that exchange-value.
Shovels all day!
